DISTRICT 8 SPONSORED AWARDS: District 8 is grateful to the many sponsors which support over $2000 in scholarships and prizes awarded in recognition of outstanding projects at the D8 science fair. Below is a list of all awards currently granted at the conclusion of the fair.

Students may select and compete for a maximum of TWO of the following special awards. List them on the “Special Awards” section of the registration card. Projects should be identified for each award based on the short explanation that follows each award title.
DISTRICT 8 SCIENCE AWARD IN PHYSICAL SCIENCE: projects dealing with any area of physical science or math including: space, earth, aerospace, airplanes etc. (POINTS AWARD - project winners are selected by points with no special judging)

SOYBEAN AWARD – projects should be in the areas of agriculture, bioscience, bioresources, or biofuels using soybeans (special judging required) Grades 5-12

innovative ideas. Emphasis is placed on hard work, data collection, and original projects. No web-sourced projects will be judged. Special judging required.

FAIRFIELD MEDICAL CENTER AWARD (POINTS AWARD - project winners selected by points – no special judging)
Qualifying projects deal with any topic related to the medicine.

CIRCLEVILLE GIANT PUMPKIN GROWERS AWARD - projects dealing with any aspect of growing pumpkins including germination, soil nutrients, disease control etc. (Special Judging)
